The IBER-GRASS project took part in a coordinating meeting between projects implemented within Programme BG03 "Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services" on 1.12.2016.

Organizer of the meeting was the team of the "Methodological support for ecosystem service assessment and biophysical valuation" (MetEcoSMap) project. This project aims at preparation of National methodological framework for Mapping and Assessment of Ecosystems and providing administrative support and coordination of the seven projects that are working on the Mapping and Assessment of Ecosystems and their Services.

Results of the in situ verification on methodology implementation provided on 26.10.2016 were presented and discussed by the members of our project attending in the meeting.

A report about project activities progress was presented by Prof. Apostolova, coordinator of IBER-GRASS project.

16.03.2016

Second workshop of the project team including all partners was held on 16.03.2016 in the National Natural History Museum. The progress on project implementation was discussed including activities on analysis of available data, database structure and the data parameters for mandatory indicators. Mrs. Kremena Gocheva attended the meeting as representative of the Program Operator.

A meeting between our team and the colleagues working on the project titled “Ecosystem services mapping and assessment of heathland and shrub ecosystems in Bulgaria (outside NATURA 2000)” has taken part in Biological faculty at Sofia University on 26.01.2016. Problems about identification of ecosystem types were discussed. We shared also experience on projects’ activities carried out so far.

17.09.2015

The first project meeting was held on 17.09.2015. It was attended by representatives of all project partners. The meeting discussed the project objectives, activities, expected outcomes. Questions have been raised related to the availability of data outside Natura 2000 areas, timeliness of the data, the compatibility of different maps layers. The distribution of activities and tasks by experts and format of the first interim report were also discussed.
